5.04 customer portal login problems

    I have installed customer portal for 5.04 today morning and have been trying to login since than. Unfortunately I don't manage to login. I get the email confirmation for customers portal with the login info but login does not work.
    Can anybody help me with this issue please?

    I don't usually post on forms however I have been messing around with this for ages now trying to get the portal working.

    I have just worked it out.

    For me it was because I was using an old version of vTiger (1.0) and the portal is sensitive to which version your running.

    If you are running vTiger 1.0 like I was, download the customer portal zip file for 1.0. Other wise upgrade your vTiger version to 2.0 and try again.

  • i think that it doesn't connect to database. i don't get incorrect password or username. there is simply a message saying could not connect to server. please contact the administrator.

    looks like $server_path and $authenticate_path are not configured in portalconfig.php of customer portal. it should point to url not the directory location.

  • i have changed both the portalconfig and the config.inc to match my settings. i dtill get the "cannot connect to server.

    whats wrong???
  • i modified the email template for customer portal login detail.
    in the body of the email, there is a link "please login here". but this link is pointing to www.vtiger.com/customerportal.
    i changed the portalconfig.php and the portal itself is working ok.
    where should i change the templete so the customer can link to our site instead of vtiger.com.

    in the vtiger source directory, config.inc.php -> you need to change the portal_url variable to get the proper customerportal url in the email notifications.

    whats the error you get when you try to login to the portal?

    is it "invalid user and password" or something to that effect?

    if thats the case then make sure you have:

    1. ticked the checkbox for customer portal user for the contact in admin
    2. assisgned a support timeframe from the global contact edit button

    the 2nd point is important if you are getting the above error and solves the problem

    have been trying all morning to resolve this problem but no luck.

    i have read various post about it, i have checked my server for curl support and it is enabled.
    the portalconfig.php in configured correctly
    the permissions are set to 755 for folders and 644 for files

    help, it's driving me insane as can't see where the error comes from.

    can you tell me what error message you can see.to see the error yourself go to your customer portal source where you can see a file called customerauthenticate.php and uncomment from the line 30 to 36.if possible send a screenshot of it.

  • i'm adding some heat to the fire. i'm a pretty darn good vtiger developer and added functionality to the 5.0.2 portal once. after going to 5.0.4, i can't get this sucker to work.

    i wrote a week ago on another response, still no answer. if i come up with something, i'll let everyone know.

    has anyone got the 5.0.4 portal working? how!!

    what is the issue you are facing with vtigercrm customer portal 504.
    if possible send us the error message you are facing or a screen shot which will help us to resolve the issue and improve vtiger product.

  • that´s a very old post, but it looks like nobody over posted a reply.

    the solution to the whole thing is most likely missing settings in the file portalconfig.php.
